    Atlanta Quilt Festival

The Atlanta Quilt Festival is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of African American quilting and other textile art.  It showcases some of the finest examples of African American quilts, dolls and other fiber art across the spectrum of all genres including traditional, art, modern and African American Heritage styles.   At the same time, the Atlanta Quilt Festival provides a welcoming environment for beginners to introduce their work to the world.

The heart and soul of the festival is the juried exhibit which has grown to over 100 quilts.  Just as important, is the array of classes offered for beginners to professionals so that students can hone their craft and enjoy the company of like-minded creatives.  Trunk shows offer the inspiration and joy of admiring the work of others.

The Machine Embroidery Group will meet next on Tuesday, September 13, at Shepard of the Sea Lutheran Church, Atlantic Beach, after Drop-In, from 11:30-1:30 pm.

There will have a demonstration of:

    1) How to create an Embroidered Greeting Card and, if time permits,

    2) How to create an In-the-Hoop Free Standing Lace Project.

Joyce will have her machine there for the demonstration. If you want to bring your embroidery machine to do your own “note card,” call/text/email me so I can let you know what supplies you will need.

The group will discuss & demo how to create a “card” with your embroidery machine, what supplies are needed, and Joyce will bring some of her Embroidery Note Card Designs for you to see the options that are available.

Please feel free to call/text/email me with any questions.
