2026 CRYSTAL COAST AND CROATAN QUILTERS GUILDS DAY OF SHARING
POSTAGE STAMP CHALLENGE
ABOUT THE CHALLENGE:
In 2024 we began considering themes for the Day of Sharing in 2026. Since 2026 is a celebratory year in American history, the theme “Made in America” was chosen. The DOS committee brainstormed to consider what could be depicted as truly American things. The brainstorming led us to selecting American postage stamps as the challenge theme.
Most American postage stamps are beautiful. They come in many shapes and sizes, depict things from nature (birds, flowers, etc.) collectables, (antiques, automobiles, pins, etc.) people and places (such as national parks and Betty White).
Participants may use piecing, paper piecing, appliqué, fabric paints, thread painting, pencils, hand embroidery, or stenciling to create an ORIGINAL quilted art piece for their challenge entry.
