Happy Birthday America 1776 - 2026

As our nation commemorates its semiquincentennial in 2026, we are inspired to celebrate one of the most important milestones of our country’s history since that historic Fourth of July in 1776, 250 years ago, when the Founding Fathers declared independence.

The Sweet Sugar Swirls quilt pattern by Fig Tree & Co., inspired guild member Jeanne Biddle in 2024 to volunteer to make the Crystal Coast Quilters’ Guild 2026 Raffle Quilt in celebration of the America’s 250th Birthday in reds, whites, and blues. Upon sharing her vision and version of this quilt with guild member Cathy Crandell, and the expertise of numerous guild members this beautiful commemorative quilt came to life!

The American Gatherings II fabric collection from Moda Fabrics and designed by Primitive Gatherings was perfect for showing the love of the USA. Twenty-three different prints of fabrics were used for the twenty star blocks pieced and sewn by guild members. No star block has the same fabric touching each of the red, white, and blue fabric strips.

The quilt backing is in dark blue set off by a centered square listing each of the fifty states printed in dark blue on a white background.

The highlight of this captivating patriotic quilt is the custom-quilting completed by guild member Laurie Mayo. Look closely for the ¼” grid around each of the stars, the gold threaded swirls within the middle of the stars, and the feathering detail on the sashing between star blocks.

This is a queen size quilt measuring 60” x 80”.

Proceeds from the 2026 quilt raffle support our charitable outreach quilt programs such as Children’s Advocacy Quilts, Hero Quilts, Breast Cancer Quilts, Hospice Quilts, and Happy Birthday Baby Quilts to name a few.

Drawing for the winner will take place on October 15, 2026. You do not need to be present to win.
