How to Select Colors from your Stash for Your Next Quilt

You will work through some simple practical Color exercises, using colored pencils, paper, & fabric scraps. The fundamentals of Color and Value will be reviewed and then applying to your fabrics. This is a fun class to apply all those principles we read about and see what happens when we play with color!

The goal is for you to understand how Color and Value can be used to help you turn your stash/scraps into a beautiful quilt or project. We hope to make at least 2 quilt squares in class.  Pattern will be provided.

Classroom will open at 8:45AM to set up your machines so the instructors can begin promptly at 9:00AM.

Supply List:

• Fabric:  8-12 fat quarters or larger, 2-4 Light Fabrics, 4 Medium Fabrics, 2-4 Dark Fabrics
• Sewing machine with a Straight stitch &/or 1/4” foot & all your sewing goodies. Bring a Power Cord Surge Protector for your machine if you have one.
• Small Cutting Mat (we will have one set up on a table)
• Rotary Cutter and Ruler
• Design Board- 12-18” Square if you have one.
• Color Wheel - the paper one from a previous class-we will have one if you need it. (The 3-in-1 Color Tool by Jean Wolfrom is good one)
• 10 count Color Pencils & Paper (graph or copier which ever you prefer)
• Small iron & pad to use at your table (Optional).

Cutting and pressing stations will be available.
