Free Motion Quilting with Beth Heal Workshop

Beth Heal is a teacher, pattern designer, an award-winning quilter, and the past President of the Coastal Carolina Modern Quilt Guild. You will learn how to use your home sewing machine to create several basic free motion quilt designs. You must have a machine with a free motion quilting foot and the ability to drop your feed dogs. An extension table for your machine is recommended.

Workshop is limited to 15 participants.

Join us for some fun and start the year off learning a new skill so you can finish those quilt tops.

Supply List:

• Sewing machine with retractable feed dogs

• Free motion or ruler foot

• 50 wt. sewing thread for top and bobbin

• machine extender table

• Supreme Slider or other similar mat to cover the bed of the machine

• quilter's gloves

• sewing tools - scissors, ruler (12" - 16") and any other tools the quilters like to use

• fabric marker - Frixion or a fine point Sharpie 

• four (4) practice quilt sandwiches - 15" square.  Please use cotton or cotton/poly batting.  No 100% poly batting please!  Participants will be able to see their stitches better if muslin or a solid, light color fabric is used.

• a 15" or so actual quilt block that is a Log Cabin, Half Square Triangles or even 9 Patch to apply what was learned to a real project.  This is just for practice, so no "real" quilt blocks please!
