“Quilts from Off and the Stories They Brought” Quilt Exhibit 

If you’ve been in Carteret County long, you probably know that people not born here have “come from off”. We’ve also been given tongue-in-cheek nicknames like Dingbats and Dit Dots!

In celebration of National Quilting Month, Core Sound Museum & Heritage Center will display “Quilts from Off and the Stories They Brought” during the month of March at its Morehead City gallery located at 806 Arendell Street. CCQG members Kristeen Dolen, Darlene Tracy, Jennifer Potts, Holly Schultz, Patti Marraro and Nan Miller have historic family quilts in the exhibit. Make plans to see some lovely quilts; learn more about your craft and perhaps see your friends in a little different light. The Core Sound gallery store and the exhibit are open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 5:00.

Additional historic quilts from Down East families will be on display at the Core Sound Museum, 1785 Island Road, Harkers Island.
