And suddenly it’s S-P-R-I-N-G! Azaleas are blooming, flowers peeking out and bees are buzzing around. Some of us are even doing some spring cleaning and organizing of their sewing spaces! Hopefully we’ll continue seeing finished projects from all this work.
I hope you all enjoyed Heather Kojan’s presentation during our last meeting! She was an informative speaker with some great tips and ideas. As well a colorful trunk show! And then her workshops the next day-a different way to do strip blocks and then in the afternoon her class on improv blocks. Many thanks to the Workshop Committee for bringing her to us.
We have some great opportunities in May to both display our raffle quilt and sell tickets. We have some slots still available if your schedules have time. Cathy Crandall has the sign-up sheets to join in the fun.
I am looking forward to our program this month when we host the Director of the Carteret County Children’s Advocacy Center, Hailey Simmons. For those who are unfamiliar with the services provided by the center, I hope it will be informative and how the quilts we donate to them are being used. There is also a private tour for any member who would like to see the center on Friday, May 22.
Happy Mother’s Day to all who are celebrating and hugs for those of us who are missing our mothers on this special day.
