Time to Plan Your March Quilt Ramble

The Crystal Coast Quilters' Guild is pleased to partner with Carteret County Public Library System, Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center and the Core Sound Quilters to present quilt exhibits during National Quilting Month.  “From Cape Carteret to Cape Lookout: A Carteret County Quilt Ramble” will feature quilts in five libraries plus the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum on Harkers Island and the Core Sound Store & Gallery in Morehead City.  Click to download the Gallery Guide.

Call your friends and set a date to enjoy the fun!! Don’t forget to patronize restaurants, stores and other businesses along the way.

Bogue Banks Library, 320 Salter Path Road #W, Pine Knoll Shores:  More than twenty-five pieces span the range of quilted textile art from traditional hand quilting and red work embroidery to modern art stylings.

Western Carteret Library, 230 Taylor Notion Road, Cape Carteret:  Enjoy a colorful, whimsical array of birds and nature scenes featuring unique embellishments and techniques.

The “Designz by Doodle” quilt store is nearby.  Stop and say “Hi” to our member Freda Yeck.

Newport Library, 210 Howard Boulevard, Newport:  This fun group of quilts builds on the library’s handprint quilt.  Some of the patterns may remind you of sunny days exploring ENC.

Core Sound Store & Gallery, 806 Arendell Street, Morehead City:  Enjoy beautiful quilts made by Core Sound Quilters individually & some made by the group as fundraisers for the Museum.

Main Library,1702 Live Oak Street, Beaufort: An eclectic exhibit starting with retro and designer fabrics, tongue-in-cheek applique, & improv piecing … “Granny didn’t make quilts like that!”

Down East Library, 702 Highway 70, Otway:  Small but mighty!  Lovely, UNIQUE items are waiting for you here.  Be sure to stop in.                                    

Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center, 1785 Island Road, Harkers Island:  A new collection of quilts from the Davis family of Tusk and Marshallberg will be displayed in the Education Center; with additional community quilts on the second floor.
